What is a Christian beanie?

A beanie is a knit cap with no brim, worn from October through March in most of the country. Because there is no front panel, the design sits on a cuff or on the crown, which means a beanie carries a short line or a small mark rather than a full passage.

Styles in this collection

  • Cuffed beanies — a folded band, the standard winter shape.
  • Uncuffed slouch beanies — longer body that sits back off the forehead.
  • Ribbed knit — tighter texture, holds shape through a season.
  • Waffle knit — looser texture with more visual depth.
  • Pom beanies — a removable pom on the crown.

Knit, warmth, and design placement

Embroidery on a knit has to be planned around stretch. Designs are placed on the cuff or the crown where the knit is stabilized, since a design across the body distorts when the hat is pulled on.

  • Acrylic or acrylic-wool blend — warm, machine washable, no itch.
  • Cuffed or slouch — cuffed is warmer over the ears.
  • Cuff or crown embroidery — placed where the knit is stabilized.
  • One size stretch — fits most adults.
  • Fleece-lined option — on select cold-weather styles.

Care and gifting

Wash cold, lay flat to dry, and never put a knit cap in a dryer, which will shrink and felt the fibers. Beanies are the most common winter outreach item, ordered in bulk for cold-weather ministry and shelter distribution. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Beanie questions, answered

Cuffed or slouch beanie?

Cuffed is warmer, covers the ears fully, and is the standard winter shape. Slouch sits back off the forehead and is more of a style choice.

Are these itchy?

No. They are acrylic or an acrylic-wool blend rather than raw wool, which is what causes the itch most people associate with knit caps.

Can I wash a beanie?

Cold water, lay flat to dry. Never machine dry a knit cap; the heat shrinks and felts the fibers permanently.

Why is the design only on the cuff?

The knit stretches when the hat is pulled on. Designs go on the cuff or crown where the knit is stabilized so they do not distort.

Will one size actually fit?

The knit stretches across a wide range and fits most adults. Slouch styles are the more forgiving of the two.

Can churches order beanies for winter outreach?

Yes. This is the most common cold-weather bulk order, usually plain-knit with a small ministry mark on the cuff.

The give-back

Every hat sends a kid to summer camp.
