What is a Stanley style tumbler?

Stanley style describes the shape that took over the category: a tall 30 or 40oz insulated body with a fixed handle, a narrow base that still clears a cup holder, and a straw lid. The handle is the defining part. It changes a tumbler from something you set down into something you carry.

What defines the shape

  • Fixed side handle — carried in one hand at full weight.
  • Tall narrow body — 30 or 40oz that still fits a cup holder.
  • Straw lid with rotating cover — sip, straw, or fully closed.
  • Tapered base — 2.8in, engineered for car consoles.
  • All-day capacity — one fill covers most of a working day.

Construction and sizes

These use the same 18/8 double-wall vacuum construction as the rest of the collection. The trade in the larger sizes is weight: a full 40oz weighs about three pounds, which is why the handle exists.

  • Sizes — 30oz and 40oz.
  • 18/8 stainless steel — double-wall vacuum insulated.
  • Cold up to 30 hours — iced up to two days in a closed tumbler.
  • Ergonomic fixed handle — molded, not a clip-on accessory.
  • Powder-coated body — laser-engraved or UV-printed design.

Care and gifting

Hand wash the body, top rack for the lid and straw, and brush the straw twice weekly. This is the single most requested gift shape in the shop right now, particularly for teachers, nurses, and graduates. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Stanley style tumbler questions, answered

Is this a Stanley?

No. Stanley style describes the shape: a tall handled insulated tumbler with a straw lid. These are our own tumblers in that form.

Does a 40oz fit in a car cup holder?

The base is 2.8 inches and fits most standard consoles, though a full 40oz sits tall and can interfere with a gear shift.

How heavy is a full 40oz?

About three pounds filled with ice and water. That weight is the reason for the handle.

30oz or 40oz?

30oz for most people, and for anyone carrying it in a bag. 40oz if you want one fill to last a full shift.

Is the lid leakproof?

It is splash-resistant with the cover rotated closed, but no straw lid is fully leakproof laid on its side.

How long does ice last?

Up to two days in a closed tumbler at room temperature, which is longer than smaller sizes because of the greater volume.
