What is a Christian glass ornament?

The short answer

A glass ornament is a blown or pressed glass piece hung on a tree, in a window, or from a mantel. Most households buy one a year, which is why ornaments end up being the object that marks a wedding, a first Christmas, or a year someone was lost. Love & Love YAH designs each one in-house, makes it to order, and donates 10% of every purchase to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit.

Styles in this collection

  • Blown glass rounds — hand-blown, with a verse or symbol applied to the face.
  • Nativity ornaments — the stable scene in a single pressed glass silhouette.
  • Cross ornaments — flat cut glass with soldered edging.
  • Dated keepsake ornaments — a year added for a first Christmas or anniversary.
  • Memorial ornaments — a name and date, given at the first Christmas after a loss.

Construction and size

Blown glass and pressed glass behave differently. Blown rounds are lighter than they look and need a sturdy branch near the trunk. Flat cut pieces are heavier per inch and hang best on an outer branch.

  • Sizes — 2.5in, 3in, and 4in.
  • Hand-blown or flat cut — depending on the design.
  • Metal cap and ribbon — fitted, not glued.
  • Gift box included — a rigid box with tissue for storage.
  • Personalization — a name, year, or short line on most designs.

Gifting and storage

Ornaments are ordered most in October and November and sell out before December. Store in the original box with tissue, out of an unheated attic, since repeated freeze and thaw cycles stress hand-blown glass. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Glass ornament questions, answered

Are these hand-blown?

The round ornaments are hand-blown, so slight variation in shape and wall thickness is normal and expected. Flat pieces are cut from sheet glass.

Can you add a name and year?

Yes on most designs. Send the exact spelling and the year. Personalized ornaments add three to five business days.

Do they come in a gift box?

Yes. Every ornament ships in a rigid box with tissue, suitable for giving and for long-term storage.

How should I store ornaments between years?

In the original box with tissue, in a closet rather than an attic. Extreme temperature swings are what crack stored glass.

Are these safe on a tree with children or pets?

Hang glass ornaments on upper branches. They are glass and will break if pulled down.

When should I order for Christmas?

Order by mid-November. Personalized pieces need to be in by the first week of November.
