A great deal of women's Christian apparel is a men's blank in a smaller size, which is why so much of it fits strangely through the shoulder and hangs long at the hip. Our women's line is patterned separately: shorter body, narrower shoulder, a sleeve that sits where a sleeve should, and a neckline that does not gape after two washes. The prints are scaled to that body rather than dropped in from a men's layout.

What is in the women's line

• Relaxed tees — 4.2 oz combed cotton with a soft drape and slightly dropped shoulder, the everyday piece of the collection.
• Fitted tees — a closer cut with side seams for a cleaner line under a cardigan or jacket.

Sizing and fit

Women's pieces run true to size. If you are between sizes, size down in the relaxed tee and up in the fitted tee. Crewnecks and hoodies are intentionally roomy through the body; if you want a close fit, order your true size, and if you want the oversized look that photographs well over leggings, go up one or two.

• XS to 3XL across tees, long sleeves and fleece.
• Bust is the number that matters — measure at the fullest point and compare with the chart on each product.
• Nursing and postpartum — relaxed tees and full-length crewnecks are the most forgiving, with room through the bust and a body that does not cling.
• Length — relaxed tees hit at the high hip; cropped crews hit at the natural waist.

Designs, and what they say

Women shop this collection for four kinds of pieces. Identity pieces — daughter of the King, beloved, chosen — are the most gifted, especially for baptisms, graduations and birthdays. Scripture pieces built on Psalm 46, Proverbs 31, Isaiah 40 and Philippians 4 are what women buy for themselves in hard seasons. Symbol and script pieces read quietly enough for work. If you are buying Christian themed clothing for a woman and do not know her taste, a script or symbol design in cream, sage or dusty blue is the safest choice. Bold block-type scripture is a stronger statement and better bought by the wearer.

Fabric, print, and care

Full-color designs are printed direct-to-garment so the hand feel stays soft against the skin, which matters more on a lightweight women's tee than on a heavy men's blank. Large solid graphics are screen printed. Embroidery on caps is real thread rather than heat-applied vinyl.

• Wash cold, inside out, tumble dry low. Heat is what cracks a print.
• Skip the fabric softener — it dulls cotton and clogs wicking finishes.
• Air dry heavyweights if you want them to keep their shape and length.
• Spot clean embroidered caps; machine washing collapses the crown.
