What is a Christian wood sign?

The short answer

A wood sign carries scripture in a material with weight and grain, which is why it reads as furniture rather than as a poster. These are cut, engraved, and finished as physical objects, meant for entryways, mantels, kitchens, and church walls where a paper print would look temporary. Love & Love YAH designs each one in-house, makes it to order, and donates 10% of every purchase to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit.

Wood, finish, and mounting

The species decides the look more than the design does. Pine takes stain warm and shows knots. Maple and birch burn with high contrast, which is what makes small engraved text readable.

  • Solid pine, maple, or birch — no MDF or particle board.
  • Sizes — 8in, 12in, 18in, and 24in on the longest edge.
  • Finishes — natural oil, walnut stain, whitewash, or matte black.
  • Keyhole or sawtooth hanger — fitted on the back before shipping.
  • Sealed surface — wiped with a dry cloth, no cleaner needed.

Wood signs are the most common wedding, housewarming, and anniversary gift in this shop, because a name, a date, or a family verse can be engraved into most layouts. What wood are these made from?

Solid pine, maple, or birch depending on the design. Nothing here is MDF or particle board.

Can you engrave a custom verse or family name?

Yes on most layouts, up to about 60 characters. Send the exact wording, spelling, and any date with the order.

What size sign should I get for an entryway?

18in is the most ordered entry size. 24in suits a mantel or a wall above a sofa, 12in a shelf or gallery wall.

How do I hang a wood sign?

A keyhole or sawtooth hanger is fitted on the back. Use a drywall anchor for anything 18in and above.

Can these hang outdoors on a covered porch?

Under full cover, yes, though direct rain and freeze cycles will eventually check the wood. Indoor use is what they are finished for.

How do I clean a wood sign?

Dry cloth only. Water and cleaners will lift stain and raise the grain around engraved lettering.
