What is Christian embroidery?

The short answer

Christian embroidery is faith artwork stitched into a garment with thread rather than printed onto it. Love & Love YAH digitises each design into a stitch file and sews it into caps, polos, quarter-zips, fleece and tote bags, sized XS to 4XL, with 10% of every purchase donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit.

Embroidery changes what a design can be. Thread has weight and direction, it catches light, and it holds an edge that ink cannot. A cross stitched on a cap reads as considered rather than casual, which is why embroidered pieces are the ones people wear to work, to church, and onto a course where a printed graphic would look out of place.

It also asks for restraint. A stitch file cannot hold fine detail the way a print can, so these designs are drawn down to their essentials: a cross, a name, a reference, a short line. That constraint is the reason the collection looks quieter than the rest of the line, and the reason it ages well.

What we stitch

  • Caps and beanies — front, side and back placements on structured, unstructured and knit blanks. Shop hats.
  • Polos and quarter-zips — left-chest crosses and wordmarks on performance and cotton pique. Shop golf wear.
  • Fleece and crewnecks — heavier stitch counts on midweight and heavyweight fleece. Shop hoodies.
  • Left-chest tees — small stitched marks on cotton tees. Shop t-shirts.
  • Custom church and ministry work — your logo or wordmark digitised and run across mixed sizes. Contact us.

How it is made

  • Digitising — the artwork is redrawn as a stitch path, not traced automatically.
  • Polyester thread — colourfast, washes cold, holds its tone through years of wear.
  • Two to twelve colours — most designs sit between two and five.
  • Stitch-out proof — custom orders get a photo of the first run before the batch goes out.
  • Sizes XS to 4XL — the same size range as the rest of the line.

Everything is made to order and ships in three to five business days, with free shipping over $75 and returns open for thirty days. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Christian embroidery questions, answered

What is Christian embroidery?

Stitched rather than printed. A design is digitised into a stitch file and sewn into the garment with thread, so the artwork sits on top of the fabric and is part of it rather than a layer sitting on the surface.

Is embroidery better than screen printing?

It lasts longer and reads as more finished, which is why it suits caps, polos and fleece. Printing handles large multi-colour artwork better. We choose per design, not per garment.

What can you embroider on?

Caps, beanies, polos, quarter-zips, crewnecks, hoodies, tote bags and left-chest placements on tees.

How many thread colours can a design use?

Up to twelve. Most of our designs sit between two and five, since embroidery reads best when the shapes are simple.

Do you do custom church or ministry embroidery?

Yes. Send us your logo or wordmark and a size breakdown and we will digitise it, send a stitch-out photo for approval, and run the order.

How should embroidered garments be washed?

Inside out, cold water, tumble low. Do not iron directly over the stitching; press from the reverse with a cloth.
