What is a Christian decal?

A decal is cut vinyl with no printed background: the letters and shapes are the sticker, and whatever surface is behind them becomes the negative space. That is why decals look applied to a window or wall rather than stuck onto it, and why they are the format used for car glass, storefronts, and lettering across a wall.

Common uses

  • Car and truck glass — white or black cut lettering on a rear window.
  • Wall lettering — a verse in cut vinyl across a nursery, hallway, or classroom wall.
  • Storefront and office glass — a business or ministry name with a verse beneath.
  • Laptops and tumblers — single-color cut symbols with no visible border.
  • Church signage — service times and a passage on entry doors.

How transfer tape works

Because a decal has no backing sheet holding the pieces together, it ships with transfer tape over the face. You peel the backing off, press the tape and vinyl onto the surface, then peel the tape away and the letters stay behind in position.

  • Cut vinyl, no background — only the design touches the surface.
  • Transfer tape included — holds letter spacing during application.
  • Colors — white, black, gold, silver, and matte navy.
  • Sizes — 5in to 22in on the longest edge.
  • Outdoor rated — five to seven years on glass, longer than a printed sticker.

Applying a decal

Clean with rubbing alcohol, hinge the decal in position with masking tape along one edge, then work outward from that hinge with a squeegee. Apply above 50 degrees. Wall decals need fully cured paint, at least three weeks after painting. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Christian decal questions, answered

What is the difference between a decal and a sticker?

A sticker has a printed background. A decal is cut vinyl with no background, so the surface shows through the design.

Will a wall decal peel my paint?

Not on fully cured paint. Wait at least three weeks after a wall is painted, and remove with gentle heat rather than pulling cold.

How do I apply the transfer tape?

Hinge the decal with masking tape along one edge, peel the backing, squeegee from the hinge outward, then remove the tape at a sharp angle.

Are decals reusable?

No. Once lifted, the vinyl stretches and will not re-lay flat. Position carefully the first time.

How long do decals last on car glass?

Five to seven years, longer than printed stickers, because there is no printed ink layer to fade.

Can I get a custom verse cut as a decal?

Yes. Send the exact wording, the color, and the longest-edge measurement of the space you are filling.
