What is a mason jar cup?

The short answer

A mason jar cup is a drinking glass in the shape of a canning jar, usually with a handle and a lid with a straw hole. It is thick-walled, it does not tip easily, and the threaded rim means it can be capped and taken outside, which no other glass in this collection can do. Love & Love YAH designs each one in-house, makes it to order, and donates 10% of every purchase to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit.

Where these get used

  • Kitchen tables — the everyday glass in farmhouse and cottage kitchens.
  • Porches and patios — the lid keeps insects out of iced tea.
  • Church potlucks and fellowship halls — durable and stackable.
  • Wedding and shower tables — etched with a date, sent home as a favor.
  • Kids and teens — thick walls and a handle they can actually hold.

Sizes, lids, and etching

The lid is what separates a mason cup from a decorative jar. A two-piece screw lid with a straw port seals well enough to carry a full cup out to a porch without spilling.

  • 16oz and 24oz — regular mouth threaded rim.
  • Handle or handle-free — handle is the more common choice.
  • Screw lid with straw port — plus a reusable straw.
  • Sandblast etched — permanent, dishwasher safe.
  • Clear or tinted glass — amber, blue, and green on select designs.

Care and gifting

Dishwasher safe. Mason cups are the most common wedding shower and bridal favor in this category, since a date can be etched and the cup gets used long after the event. 10% of every purchase is donated to a Christian ministry, mission, charity or non-profit. You are helping the Kingdom of Heaven with every purchase.

Mason jar cup questions, answered

How much does a mason jar cup hold?

16oz or 24oz. The 24oz is the one most people choose for iced drinks with a lot of ice.

Does the lid seal completely?

It seals well enough to carry across a yard without spilling from the straw port, but it is not a sealed travel container. Do not put one sideways in a bag.

Is the etching permanent?

Yes. It is sandblasted into the glass, not printed on the surface, so the dishwasher will not touch it.

Does a straw come with it?

Yes, a reusable straw sized for the lid port is included with every lidded cup.

Are these dishwasher safe?

Yes, including the lid. Wash the straw with the brush that comes with it.

Can we order these as wedding favors?

Yes, in quantity with a date etched. This is the most common favor order in the drinkware category.
